• Perform fusion splicing and fiber troubleshooting.
• Prep and install new splice cases, including midspan, on multiple cable types.
• Dress aerial cases, handholes, and manholes with attention to detail.
• Audit splice cases and identify issues or inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with Business Partners, Construction & Network Engineering on outage resolution.
• Identify and understand muxes, switches, and routers.
• Read and interpret splice matrices, CDs, and design maps accurately.
• Conduct OTDR and power meter testing to verify fiber integrity.
• Use VFL and recognize fiber losses, wavelengths, and traffic light measurements.
• Save and send test files and documentation.
• Navigate mapping tools such as 3GIS and Arc Online with basic layer symbology knowledge.
• Incident Management: Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations to ensure rapid response and resolution during critical network outages or events.
