JOB SUMMARY

The Director, OSP Engineering is a critical leadership role responsible for defining and executing the engineering strategy that supports Ezee Fiber’s network expansion across multiple markets. This individual will lead the transformation and scaling of the OSP Engineering function—driving standardization, operational rigor, and design excellence across the organization.

 

This role requires an executive mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into engineering execution. The Director will serve as a strategic partner to Construction, Operations, and executive leadership, ensuring that network design is optimized for speed-to-market, cost efficiency, and long-term scalability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic Leadership & Execution
• Define and execute the regional OSP engineering strategy in alignment with enterprise growth objectives
• Build, scale, and lead a multi-market engineering organization focused on performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Establish standardized engineering frameworks, design criteria, and best practices to drive consistency and scalability

Operational Excellence
• Drive end-to-end engineering execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
• Implement process improvements that enhance design quality, reduce cycle times, and increase throughput
• Oversee design validation, ensuring all engineering outputs meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements

Cross-Functional Partnership
• Serve as a key partner to Construction, Field Engineering, and Operations to ensure seamless project delivery
• Collaborate with executive leadership to provide visibility into project status, risks, and performance metrics
• Align engineering priorities with market expansion strategies, including direct support of the Washington market

Vendor & Stakeholder Management
• Lead vendor strategy and oversight, ensuring external partners deliver high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions
• Evaluate and approve vendor-produced designs to ensure alignment with Ezee Fiber standards
• Influence internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment, accountability, and results

Technical & Financial Stewardship
• Ensure the integrity and efficiency of OSP network design, including fiber routing, conduit systems, and pole line infrastructure
• Identify opportunities to optimize network performance and reduce capital and operational expenditures
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to support business objectives

Talent Leadership
• Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and innovation
• Provide mentorship and leadership development to build a sustainable engineering organization

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervise one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, or a related field required. 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in OSP engineering, telecommunications, or FTTH network design
• Demonstrated success leading multi-market teams and scaling engineering operations in a high-growth environment
• Deep expertise in fiber network design, including underground and aerial construction methodologies
• Strong proficiency with ArcGIS/ESRI and engineering design tools
• Proven ability to drive process improvement, operational efficiency, and cost optimization
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and capital projects
• Executive presence with the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization
• Highly analytical, strategic, and results-driven

PHYSICAL, FIELD, OR ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel up to 40–50% to support active construction markets, field engineering teams, and network deployment initiatives

COMPENSATION

USD $150,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
