Ezee Fiber is seeking a dedicated and skilled OSP Field Operations Maintenance Tech who will be responsible for performing essential maintenance and repair tasks related to telecom infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on, physically demanding approach and involves working in various weather conditions. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the reliability and functionality of our outside plant facilities. • Perform basic and intermediate repairs and maintenance on fiber optic cables, conduits, vaults, pedestals, and other facilities, both aerial and underground.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and mini excavators.
• Efficiently hand dig and perform other physically demanding tasks.
• Utilize company vehicles, including trailers and bucket trucks, for field operations.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic activities to resolve issues with telecom infrastructure.
• Read and interpret technical prints and schematics.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in written reports, providing clear updates on work performed and issues encountered.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including aerial lift and confined space work when required.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.

Education and Experience requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics are a plus. Minimum of six (6) months to two (2) years of experience or training in fiber splicing and troubleshooting. 

• Previous experience in telecom or utility construction is highly desirable. 

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner. 

• Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and mini excavators. 

• Physical capability to perform demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions. 

• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to produce clear and concise written reports. 

• Ability to read and interpret technical prints and schematics. 

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record. 

• Experience with aerial lifts and confined space work is a plus.

The field and environmental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or wind.  Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed. Tolerate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and uneven or slippery surfaces. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during all applicable tasks.   

Standard daily travel to assigned territories is required for this position (up to 30% of the time within a 10-mile radius).
