JOB SUMMARY

As a Representative, Collectionsthe ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections and a proven track record of successfully negotiating with customers to recover outstanding balances while maintaining excellent customer relationships. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Debt Recovery: Contact customers with overdue accounts through various communication channels (phone, email, mail) to recover outstanding balances. 
  • Negotiation: Engage in professional and effective negotiations to secure payment arrangements or settlements while considering the customer's financial situation and our company's policies. 
  • Account Analysis: Review customer accounts to assess the level of delinquency and prioritize collection efforts accordingly. 
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving disputes, and explaining billing details and payment options. 
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, including payment promises and customer interactions. 
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on collection activities and the status of outstanding debts for management review. 
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and company policies. 
  • Payment Processing: Process payments received from customers, update account information, and ensure proper allocation of funds. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in collections is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience as a Collections Agent or in a similar role.
• Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication abilities in a high-volume environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience as a Collections Agent or in a similar role. 
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills. 
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy. 
  • Proficiency in using collections software and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • A commitment to ethical and fair debt collection practices.
